I’m getting excited because the beta version of my fitness app is almost here! I’m patiently (trying to anyways ?) waiting for it to come to me from the developers any day now! One of the first places I notice inflammation on my body is in my stomach, maybe after a weekend of eating a lot of stuff I normally wouldn’t eat or drink. Also if I’ve been training harder, I’ll notice it in my legs especially because I carry a lot of muscle on my legs they get beat up really easy. Its important to pay attention to inflammation because it’s your body’s way of telling you it’s responding to something going on in your body! Maybe stress, infections, toxins etc. But inflammation from training is normal & necessary to grow stronger. However there are some things you can do to reduce inflammation in your muscles and joints, to help you recover faster. First of course it starts with what you eat & drink, I think by now we all know to eat as much unprocessed food as we can. To eat lots of fruits, veggies, lean meats & try to minimize anything gluten. Stretching, foam rolling, cryotherapy & Epsom salt baths all help as well! Of course you know one of my favs is juicing & yes my juice recipes will be in my app coming soon;) Also taking omega-3’s like @omaxhealth are a natural anti-inflammatory for your body! And bonus omega-3’s are also great for your heart & brain, so the whole team’s winning ?? I hear this question a lot “how do you stay motivated?”…honestly it’s just innate for me. I started training because I was an athlete first, so it was never just “working out” for me I was always training FOR something to throw further, kick harder, be able to get back on D, I played 3 sports so the goal was always different. Then when sports were over I got into fitness competitions to have something to train for, I dieted for the first time ever trained for 2-3 hours a day just to “look” a certain. Then one day I woke and I was SO bored I just wanted to get back to doing athletic things! Which was the reason I started throwing footballs at objects haha ?? True story I was so bored of it all I just wanted to get back to what got me into fitness…sports! So I got back to what made me who I am, switching over to athletic style training and smashing food, good food at that but no more measuring everything I ate and doing boring steady state cardio ? And because I am doing something I love again, it’s so easy for me to stay motivated. So my advice to those who are looking to get healthier, stronger whatever it is pick something YOU like doing! You have to be excited for your training, otherwise guess what…you won’t stick to it long. And as I always say it’s about CONSISTENCY over perfection, there’s SO many ways to get fit so find what will keep you consistent and stick with it ????And if you like my methods, I have something coming for you soon ?? @jpatrickphoto #flexfriday #fitnessmotivation #yourmom
